I adore a place that takes its food seriously without taking itself seriously. This is exactly that kind of spot. I was drawn in by a monthly special promising an elevated beef n' cheddar with curly fries. I admit, I wasn't wowed. The fries were amazing, but the sandwich itself lacked flavor and the accompanying jamocha shake was icy instead of creamy. However, my daughter's tofu poutine was out of this world! Veg gravy that savory- yes please! My conclusion is that I need to try all the great things on the regular menu my next visit. Our server was super friendly and chill and the ambiance on the patio was absolutely joyful. It's a delightful spot and I can't wait to return.
Good food and great drinks! We stopped in for lunch recently because of its proximity to Spring Grove while making arrangements. We were pleasantly surprised at how great the drinks were and how yummy the food tasted. We both ordered the Double Smash burger and it was awesome! It was served with fries that were pretty good too. I ordered the Islay Manhattan and my husband had a beer. My cocktail was great! And my husband was happy to find a German beer on the menu that he doesn't find often. We sat on the back patio and it was a beautiful day for it - so it was a really enjoyable lunch. The service was friendly and quick. We will definitely be back!
I'm not sure how to explain this but Northside Yacht Club is exactly the way I pictured it. It's divey and kitchsy and hipster and ironic and somehow a little bit sincere all at once. Bartenders and servers are friendly and want you to have a good experience, but I think they also don't take themselves too seriously. It's a fun place in a way that not many other restaurants can match. We came in for a late lunch on a Saturday and were given our choice of seating. After snagging a table near the (modern, electronic) jukebox where we could admire the aquarium fish on the wall of tv monitors, we ordered drinks, wings, poutine, and one of the day's specials, a shrimp roll. The drinks were great. I enjoyed my perfectly executed Paloma and my husband had a Baja Blasted made with Mountain Dew and vodka that was surprisingly delicious. The food was excellent as well. Wings were crispy and the habanero sauce had a nice kick without being overwhelming. The poutine was great and big enough that we took half home for dinner that night. My shrimp roll had a generous amount of shrimp (though I could have gone for some more Old Bay!). The sleeper hit was the fried broccoli side. I know deep frying a vegetable has to limit its vegetable-ly healthfulness but it's also insanely good. I ate the whole pile before I really even noticed that I had.
Service out standing. Large table and our was awesome. Great drinks especially the Paloma's and peanut butter tequila. Took a quart home. Pickle chips were delicious. The wings were not exactly cooked as requested. I asked for crispy and light sauce. They were not crispy and heavy sauce. That's why I gave it a four.
VEGAN REVIEW what a find! Awesome vegan options, I had a hard time deciding. Ended up doing the monthly special- a churrasco tofu sandwich with vegan Caesar instead of fried. SO GOOD! Love the cocktails, as well. Great service & fun vibe. Lots of events here. A diverse crowd. Ladies-- if you go to the restroom press the "press for assistance" button, I promise you won't regret it!!!
Amazing place to get a beer and excellent food.. i was in a bar last week having an excellent discussion on just great food and this lady pointed me in the direction of THIS place because of the special. This is the JUNE monthly special(Churrasco-marinated crispy shaved beef, fire roasted red bell pepper, grilled onion, garlic chipotle aioli, cheese sauce, and cilantro on a toasted white hoagie roll) so if you're reading this before July GET THERE immediately... As someone whose had various cheesesteaks across the country and proclaiming I'll never eat another outside of Philly, this is THE absolute best rendition of it I've had... flavorful, creamy, very soft bun and the fries topped creature style really complimented it especially if you love a lil spice between every bite! 10/10 and i wish it was a staple to keep me traveling to Philly when I'm craving a cheesesteak!
Unique restaurant with a great outdoor area. Service was good and food did not disappoint. Smash burgers, cauliflower wings and fried pickle chips were our favorites.
March Mondays at Northside Yacht Club are for Raclette! Northside Yacht Club is a neighborhood staple filled with character. Note the full screen aquarium wall in the back - an unexpected backdrop for a cool undersea dining experience! Also, be sure to check out the bathroom and press the big red button :) The decor isn't the only creative highlight of this restaurant. Each month there's a revolving special. This month it's Raclette - a dish topped with melted cheese. I enjoyed it. Most of the accompaniments were pickled or had a vinaigrette which broke the overall heaviness. It's a hearty portion for a very reasonable price. My only suggestion would be more heat/melt on the cheese as it hardened pretty quickly after serving. Coming off of a wheel it may not be possible, but would be nice.
I don't know why I don't come to NSYC more often. I came for lunch this morning around 11:30 to get my yearly fried cheese coney. I ended up looking at the menu and deciding to get their wings, and the cheese coney to go. This is my first time having their smoked wings, and they were really good. I got the Parmesan garlic sauce, and a side of ranch. They definitely out-wing many restaurants in Cincinnati. The service was great as always, I'm not sure who my server was but she was nice. You can tell all the employees really get along and have a great system. The building is so neat. I didn't get photos, but the decorations are all bizarre and so cool. The women's restroom now has a red button that you can push that turns on the disco lights and plays a surprise song which I found to be hilarious.
NSYC is one of my go-to spots, so I can't believe I haven't left a review yet!. The menu isn't huge, but it has a lot of tried and true dishes. The boyfriend especially likes the burger. Smashed would be thy style and greasy are the fingers that hold thee burger. I'm a fan of the Mac n cheese and the Tijuana Caesar salad that comes with the soft boiled egg. Yum! The brunch is solid. Try out the Bloody Mary! It's a meal in itself! One of our favorite things are the monthly specials (and the Instagram stories that accompany them). From the deep fried coneys, to the nihilistic Arby's sandwich to the Cubano.... If there's a special, we're trying it. My FAVORITE thing I've had there is the deep fried lasagna. It's so good... and I don't know why I was that took me by surprise It's only available on Mondays and toootally worth the visit.
